Tipi from Sonic Architecture by Andy Wasserman

This musical selection expresses what it felt like to build a tipi in the traditional way. It evokes the sense of peace and harmony one feels when sitting by the fire inside the tipi, and the sound of resonance as it circulates throughout the tipi shape.

It honors the simple yet magnificent architectural design of the tipi, which used by Indigenous peoples of the Plains in the Great Plains and Canadian Prairies of North America, notably the seven sub-tribes of the Dakota, among the Iowa people, the Otoe and Pawnee, and among the Blackfeet, Crow, Assiniboines, and Plains Cree.
