Beautiful Noise by Andy Brotherton

The noises we make, internally as much as any other. The 8 tracks that comprise this release cover some memorable moments in my life and with them the noises that I hear when I think about them.

Stan is a tribute to Stan Tracey, who is to my mind the greatest British jazz pianist, as well as being right up there as a composer and performer, with any jazz great. I was lucky enough to put three gigs on of Stan playing solo. And in the process I learnt so much from him, despite his being frugal with words.

Many times we play music instrumentally and it means more to us than words. Groups of notes clustered together, using harmony, tone and rhythm, are how I think. I wish so often that words worked the same way, bringing together many memories, emotions and thoughts for the past, present and future.

Some of the music here is very personal to my makeup as a person. Who I simply am. And as such it's great to be able to leave all instrumental music to the experience of the listener. To experience it however they like and to draw their own conclusions.

Guitarist & Tutor living in the South West UK in Gloucestershire. I live for playing guitar and have done since the age of 10, when my life was changed by a track on the radio.
