Durationals by Andrew Sblendorio
In 2016 I was extremely lucky to play sixty shows either solo, duo with Alexis Aguam, or with the band Comfy.
In that time, I got the chance to play two durational improvisations that were two hours in length.
One was at Rust Belt Books in Buffalo, NY, accompanied by my good friend and guitarist Drew Azzinaro. He is featured in Part-2 of the Rust Belt Books tracks.
The other was at The Dev in Utica, NY, at an art gallery opening for my friend and visual artist Michael Peckham. The separation of these tracks was mostly arbitrary.
You can hear many of the ideas that led to the album "Life, In General" woven into the soundscape of both of these extended works.
