Threshold by Andrew Heath & Peter Maynard
The second instalment of improvised soundscape works from myself and Peter Maynard. Threshold is a continuation of the same process that created Dust. We would set up our equipment and play for hours.
Following many more hours of editing and listening, music was distilled down and down until we were left with just Dust and Threshold.
The result is an immersive journey through wide vistas and quiet views, enveloped by ever changing weather patterns. At times, even we can’t always tell who played what.

Ambient, piano based, lower-case music. Quiet and intimate - it explores sounds from both acoustic and electronic sources, along with processed field recordings and gathered, ‘found’ sounds. This music is not static though. It drifts. It constantly shifts and creates new maps that are full of change but listen carefully and you’ll also hear quiet, random glitches or shimmering dissonances.
