In moments of distraction, when concerns have faded into the tapestry of amused disinterest, these are the times when our vulnerability is most apparent. Though one may be absorbed in some trivia without any indication of the disruption lurking around the corner, the effects of a system being compromised will ultimately be an undoing, bringing it all to a screeching halt. From there, the probing and prodding begin in order to diagnose some ailment which may be held responsible for this state and a prognosis can be defined to indicate a course of action. So it is that some stranger does rend flesh and bone and strip veins in order to salvage the architecture poor living has caused to collapse. The body is cracked and broken open, halted in its respiration and flattened so that the delicate work can be done. It is a feeble thing which allows for such trauma, yet there is still a resilience enabling it to somehow survive.
