The bodies move through the turnstile in rapid succession as each soul finds itself passing from one state to the next. That is assuming there is another state and there is every reason to believe there is little more than a dissipation of energy back into the cosmic background from whence it coalesced. It only seems natural that these transitions should appear to have some significance in light of the conceit that boosts our egos upon a pedestal of importance. How could something so “noble” be no more than a flash of spirit sparked in the fires of eternity only to snuff out like so many insignificant embers turning to dust? The winds of infinity scatter the particles into oblivion only to have them cling and clump together again in some new arrangement. To what end shall this dance spin off into the eons? What purpose has this cycling of matter again and again into shapes more-or-less interchangeable?
