So many messages have been tucked neatly inside so many bottles and thrown into so many seas. Each one is a tiny piece of hope that has been torn off and folded up with it’s special little sentence. Taken all together, they have a story within them that is of no interest to anyone with any common sense. There is no one story any more important than another. Each one has it’s own twists and turns and resolves into the same fate. Yet there is an insistence on polluting the waters with this debris as we seek to find that response which may validate some small part of these tragic tales. Over and over the waves wash them out into the deep, sinking them into depths that none will ever fathom. Find one on the shore and smash the glass only to read some repetition of our own struggle copied out in hasty cursive scratches of desperation.
We are not alone, yet everything conspires to isolate us in our little bottles.
