The universe is overflowing with the lifeless results of chemical reactions which never managed to muster the cohesion to coalesce into even the most basic protoplasmic organisms. This litany of pointlessness clutters up an infinity of galaxies scattered across a timeless vastness too great to comprehend. For every animate microbe that squiggles across some slime coated surface, there is an endless array of inert matter sprinkled throughout the great voids of space seeking no resolution, transformation or evolution. All this material drifts aimlessly about itself with barely a single pocket of exception to offer some break in the monotony of emptiness surrounding it. Yet what is the exception which drives these minutiae of organic accidents towards ever more complex interactions within themselves? This persistence maintains its determination even as it deflects into one failed recombination after another until it stumbles upon some form capable of withstanding the onslaught of oblivion.

Walking with the broken rocks upon the heaving thrust of mountain echoes, movement becomes challenged.
