are adequately sweet
mandarins and oranges
and other fruits are treats


But none of them compare
to what our love has grown to be
our relationship is ripe
it's mature, and it's just right


It'll be so soft and sweet
tender consistency
can you believe what we created
what we gently cultivated?


I like to call it a love fruit
worked so hard to build strong roots
grew it with our aching hearts
the brightness in the dark


Toughest storms and circumstance
we weathered through them all
they wanted us to wilt away
on the basis of hearsay


Wouldn't take it any longer
our hearts just grew stronger
till our love started to bloom


Blossomed into a love fruit
started off as an offshoot
grew it with our battle scars and tears
we've come so far
