Magnetic from Spirit Dance by Ambient Jazz Ensemble

Magnetic - is all about attraction & feelings over which you have no control. I attempted to make the track simmer whilst remaining chilled, atmospheric & sultry; the slow build maintains an intensity, an emotional draw if you will. Using a repeated flugel theme the piece squeezes all it can from a simple chordal sequence, with horns, drums & hammond building the magnetic pull.

AJE is all about storytelling, a cinematic journey. Tracks begin from a simple idea, a texture, an ambient soundscape that has room to grow, often blossoming into euphoric suites. At the heart of every track is a jazz ensemble, but the music owes much to electronica or orchestral influences, jazz is merely the palette of sounds & collaborative musicianship that carve the AJE musical landscape.
