Codeine by Alluvial Nuggetts
We're very excited to announce the release of 'Codeine' the debut single by Alluvial Nuggetts – a new band led by James Dutton, a Melbourne-based English-born singer/songwriter and guitarist known for his time in Flywheel, as well as stints in indie legends The Cannanes.
Alluvial Nuggets represents a major return to studio life for James and reunites him with producer Tony Dupé (Jack Ladder, Grand Salvo). Here they have finessed a soundscape from within the local hall in Tylden, Victoria with a beautiful album as whimsical and peculiar as anything conceived in an English two-up/two-down.
‘Codeine’ is a song about longing for another time, but knowing your time machine is at the mechanics and is unlikely to ever be fixed properly and Steve is happy to just tinker with it and charge you an arm and a leg for his “services”, then come around to your place and try to initiate an unwelcome friendship over a poorly chosen bottle of Shiraz.
Alluvial Nuggetts’ self-titled debut album will be released in early-2024 on Lost And Lonesome.

Alluvial Nuggetts were formed in 2020 as a music project for singer songwriter James Dutton. (Flywheel, The Canannes).
Together with Marc Regueiro-McKelvie, (Teeth & Tongue), Bon King (The Cannanes) and Francessca Bussey (The Cannanes) and with the assistance of producer Tony Dupe (Jack Ladder, Grand Salvo) they have recorded an albums worth of material in an old village hall in rural Victoria.
