Lyrics
Thin Silence
(Aguirre)
I’ve traveled far to find this cave
40 nights and 40 days
To hear a whisper whisper vague
"Forget Me Nots" and "Say Good-byes"
And when It did I hid my face
At the entrance to my fate
The Whisper stopped and when It spoke
Unlike the wind but a thinning silence
What are you doing here
Asleep in a cleft
See you when you awake
From fire, wind, and quake
I struggled long to no avail
To comprehend instead of fail
To hear that whisper whisp anew
My faceless showed the mark of You
Alas, the meaning came to light
I paused a bit in retrospect
For when the Whisper echoes strong
Not unlike the sound of thin silence
Saying…
What are you doing here
Asleep in a cleft
See you when you awake
From fire, wind, and quake
In thin silence
