Hypercolour label boss Alex Jones makes a rare return to the imprint he co-founded back in 2006 alongside Jamie Russell, with a tight two track single.
When not producing affirming techno bangers as one half of Dense & Pika, and running his other label operation, Kneaded Pains, Jones is most adept at conjuring up off kilter and genre busting productions under a variety of aliases. With ‘Taid’, the seasoned producer deploys an unorthodox vocal over a low-slung groove and deep keys with arresting results. Accompanying track ‘Artichoke’, wonky bass tones collide with broken beats and yearnful vocals as enriching found sounds are sprinkled over this subaquatic slo-mo techno cut.
