During a Summer US tour in 2013 with black metal groups Autolatry and Obsidian Tongue, Sean H brought his guitar into the woods of Tallahassee, FL on a rainy day off and began playing what soon became "Let The Sea Decide My Fate". After returning from the tour, he spent the next year writing more black metal songs inspired by the bands he had spent that summer with. After the songs were written, he asked Greg M of OT to help him bring the tracks to life by arranging drum performances for them. They began recording in January of 2015.

Throughout the rest of the year, many tribulations occurred to both members, as life events began to shape and control both their schedules and their emotions. The recordings evolved over the course of the year into something much different than initially visioned. They hope to convey these emotions through the recordings to encompass the journey they both endured.
