For my mother: Blanche was a wonderful mom, a beautiful person, and a very dear friend...she was loving, nurturing, good, & kind... a person of great moral strength... truly angelic... she was of her own mind... wise, with an enlightened, serene spirit.
She often said she was content in her own thoughts... not 'with', but 'in'... an immersion into the self... residing in oneself. And why should it be otherwise?... whom else do we know?... what else, outside oneself, can be confirmed as real?
Yes, centered in the now the world is seen through child's eyes...
and the now becomes forever... a place of imagining ... a place of divine light...
where life is just a dream...
But even angels fly away... and wishing can't make it otherwise... trying to hide in the sun
I can't dodge the clouds... just wanting to stand still... but it's a one way life...
perhaps in a million years...
Mom, I miss you... hoping you can hear the music & enjoy these flowers.

I grew up in a large musical family in a small rural town.
My father was a jazz pianist who played mostly by ear.
I had a sense for a long time that I would eventually want to make my own music. Reaching out to Will Ackerman in 2016 was really the culmination of a lifetime of musical training and preparation.
This was also the beginning of the maturation of my own piano music.
