'Silent Silhouettes' heralds the release of Aksak Maboul's first real new release in decades: the 'Figures' double album, out May 22, 2020 (please note that this track is NOT on the album).
Could this almost-instrumental, electronic tango-like track be evoking a dream scene in a Bioy Casares story, filmed by an Italian maestro in the '60s?... What's certain is that it unveils some of the sound of “Figures”, with its unique instrumentation, collages and enigmatic moods.
Just like the album, this track was written and produced by Marc Hollander & Véronique Vincent (respectively founder of Aksak Maboul & Crammed Discs, and former vocalist with The Honeymoon Killers).
The seminal, shapeshifting band came back to life after a 30-year gap, and now revolves around founder (& Crammed Discs boss) Marc Hollander & Véronique Vincent who, with a new line-up, have recorded and released an acclaimed brand-new double LP: 'Figures' (2020). AM was founded in 1977 by Hollander with Vincent Kenis, and the band’s first 2 LPs are avant-garde classics.
