Purna by Akari Tamura

“Purna” is a mantra single born from spontaneity and devotion. It was recorded in August in Koh Phangan, Thailand, during a moment when I felt called to create something slow, spacious, and meditative. There was no plan. I simply felt drawn into sound and stillness and into the mantra that has always held a special place in my heart.

I went to Leo Med’s home studio on the island. I started on the piano and began to sing, and Leo then added guitar. The arrangement grew naturally in that sequence — simple, organic, and held by the calm of the island. The music unfolded easily and became a gentle, meditative journey that carries the feeling of presence and simplicity.

This mantra has accompanied me for many years, and this version feels like a true expression of its essence: wholeness, completeness, and the quiet beauty of returning to the Self.

“Purna” is a reminder to me that sacred music does not require a plan. It only asks for an open heart, the right moment, and the willingness to let the mantra move through us.
