Arterie by A.J. Kaufmann

Recorded 29.08-3.09.2022, "Arterie" is my brand new album. In "Arterie" I was inspired by The Sisters of Mercy, Kraftwerk, Big Black, Godflesh, Velvet Underground, Pussy Galore, Einstürzende Neubauten, Cows...

the inspirations with Big Black and Godflesh were fresh at the moment of recording, because I realized we all use drum machines and have decided to build "Arterie" around that notion...

...the track "White American Boy" was inspired by the movie "Natural Born Killers" and written back when I was 15 as a protest against guns and teenage violence in America.

The title track, "Arterie", was inspired by early Kraftwerk and is about driving dark highways at night illuminated only by the cars' lights.

Finally, "Scum of the Earth" is dedicated to Kurt Cobain.

The rest of the songs are also abstract "sound paintings" in noise rock and raw teenage poetry about the inner terra of mind, where words like "hot", "diarrhea", "daisies", "loon", "glue" form loose ugly surreal connotations when pairing body issues with spiritual beauty.
