pressed against the door
my axe stuck in the ice

heed the rattle
it tells you where to go
through the terraced gardens
into the wilderness below
to see the scene
behind the scenery

sleeping in a city
walled against the world
sleeping inner cities
tower in you
waiting for the word
that the guard is asleep
..the towers empty out
