I. Separation
"Miyasa looks him over, from matted azure crown down to the slight geometric protrusions on his sneakers. He's wounded... unconscious, but alive. This time she can't stop the impulse; wanting to experience him, she runs her fingers across the sharp fringe of hair that has fallen across his face and touches the smooth skin beneath. She tells herself the urge is simply a failure of the emotional dampener app slotted into her neural lace due to her weakened state, though she knows this is false. She’s doing it because she wants to. She wants to know that feeling again."

II. Entangled
"Miyasa reaches across and pulls the jacket hood up over his head, then does the same for her own, effectively encasing them in their own private universe whose walls are unbreachable. Their connection expands out into the astral ether. His body is like a torch on the ruined wall of the Charred Temple, funneling its heat into hers, and his lips fill her with the blue holy fire of the temple’s patron god Shāiv. She drinks him in like the untainted essence of water, stolen from the forbidden river of knowledge in the celestial garden of the goddess Ahmbruxa. The effluence of the world temporarily kneels to the ardor of the heart."
