THE PROBLEM

In his work, The School of Athens, the renaissance artist Raphael depicts one of the four branches of knowledge. In it he exhibits an acute understanding of philosophy. Visiting incognito, the philosophers are so deeply engaged in their intellectual quests, they are oblivious to Raphael's presence.

It is only Raphael and Hypatia who see beyond to the answer as they gaze outside the the physical world, and toward The Infinite.

The Triump of Religion points to the reality of "The Infinite," which lies beyond the Vanishing Point. Through Raphael's work we understand that there is an infinite personal God. We also realize that if we have offended this infinite being, even in the most miniscule manner, The Infinite is offended in his infinity. He is infinitely offended. Therefore, only an infinite remedy can make right/justify. Only infinite restitution will do. Ironically, only the The Infinite himself can provide the infinite remedy to the problem. Only The Infinite can provide the infinite solution.


THE DISPUTE

The Dispute is a continuum of options that have only one conclusion about the nature of the remedy. The nature of the sacrifice required. The nature of the solution. Not only has Raphael painted the question. He has painted the answer. He deserves credit for both philosophical and theological understanding. Raphael deserves to graduate with honors having painted both the problem, and the solution. It is incumbent upon mankind to realize the truth of what Raphael painted before he reaches his Vanishing Point.


THE ONLY SOLUTION

The School of Athens has a vanishing point. Only one. So too does the truth of the infinite. For if there is an infinite personal God, and you and I have offended the infinite personal God, God is then offended in his infinity. He is infinitely offended. Therefore, only an infinite remedy can resolve the problem of infinite offense. An infinite problem requires an infinite solution. Hence, God himself would have to provide the infinite solution. God himself would have to provide the infinite restitution. God would have to make the ultimate sacrifice. Therefore, one should start looking where such infinite remedy is claimed, and once demonstrated to be so, look no further. Only one claim has the answer. All others - have no answer.

The Continuum

Imagine a continuum in front of you from your left to your right. Picture the Eucharist in the middle of the continuum as depicte in Raphael's Dispute. On the left of the continuum is the Catholic view of the Eucharist.On the right of the continuum is Islam.

The Eucharist, in Catholic theology, litterally becomes the body of Christ. As such, Jesus is not just remembered. Rather, the Euchrist litterally become the body of Jesus. Hence, Jesus is sacrificed over and over and over, every day, all around the world. Over and over and over.

On the other extreme end of the continuum, is Islam. Polar opposite of the Catholic view of the Eucharist, in the Islamic view Jesus did not die on the cross.

Somewhere near the middle of the continuum is the Judao/Christian view, which share in common a looking forward to a messiah who is the infinite-personal solution to the infinite problem. A savior did not just come. He was predicted to come. He was predicted to die. He was predicted to be burried. And he was predicted to rise. Moreover, there are those who testified as eyewitnesses to this even. And there is the empty tomb.

Note that it is also these groups in the middle against which the Inquisition took place. And it is these groups in the middle against which Jihad is most widely practiced. And it is these groups in the middle that look to the one infinite personal God to provide the infinite solution to the infinite problem. The neo-atheist of our day completely fail to make these distinctions.
