Fighting and sides make up our news
No matter what, we seem to lose
Faith in our freedom and right to choose
Somehow we’ve forgotten what is true

The MLK disagrees with the AOC
Alphabet soup daily is Greek to me
Turning off and tuning out for sanity
Is the only recourse to set ourselves free

A tool is a whip, a tweet an offense
No one has patience or common sense
Respect for each other, it’s getting intense
Reach out, reach over, reach across the fence

Peace and harmony so needed today
Reaching out to each other somehow some way

We have our children to think of their future at risk
They can’t even begin to make sense of all this

Love more, hate less, put down the shame
Bring back love and forgiveness, the same
We are spiraling down with all of this game
And only will have ourselves to blame

Make love, not war intentionally
Get back to what’s right emotionally
For our sake and our children’s sanity
Let’s work toward a future of humanity
