Touch Starved by Touch Starved
Touch Starved is the solo moniker of Finnish musician Juuso Suomela (I use the word musician literally, as he is a very skilled drummer in several killer bands)...but with this project he has the freedom to explore and express his individual shadow on a much deeper internal level.
It is a masterfully crafted combination of blown out tape noise, feedback loops, junk metal, ambient field recordings and distraught vocals that as a whole sort of brings to mind early 2000s Prurient ala "History of AIDS" or "Troubled Sleep" (my favorite era).
It's very refreshing to hear a contemporary noise release this emotionally palpable, causing the hairs on your arms to stand up numerous times throughout the albums half hour runtime, leaving you eager for the next play through.
