This is a fun beat from 1998 that didn’t really fit with the other stuff we were doing for our second CD SNoRKELHoUSE at that time. I have recently been archiving old DAT tapes from the 1990’s and early 2000’s and this one popped up. I hadn’t heard it in a very long time. This recording is the mix from Battery Studios in New York in 1998 and I added on a funny bit from our regular sampling and looping from the TV that we did a lot of at that time. Hazy studio hilarity.
The cover photo was taken in Studio K2 at Battery Studios. I’m on the left and Joe is on the right. Battery Studios is where I worked on staff as an engineer for several years. The 310 albums Aug 56 and SNoRKELHoUSE which make up The Leaf Label release Downtown & Brooklyn Only, THE DIRTY RoPE, and Prague Rock were all done at Battery Studios.
