Myspace. It can be shitful at times, but you can also meet some great people on there too. T-Sharp falls into the latter. This beat was actually on his page when I first approached him about submitting something for the album. It turned out that he lived out west like me so we arranged to meet up one night at my place and go over beats. That night I got about 4 or 5. But this was by far always my favourite. I had started writing a song about my friend to an M-Phazes beat (that wasn’t available) that he’d labelled “brother”. My mate, Brewer and I have known each other since we were five – he’s the brother I never had. He’s been through some pretty rough stuff the last few years but I’ve always been inspired by the way he never let it get the better of him. Because the M beat wasn’t available I never got around to finishing the track, but once I had this beat I knew it would be the perfect vehicle and I got to work finishing the song. I asked T if he’d play keys on it too. Being the classically trained muso that he is, he rounded the whole thing out with some really beautiful piano work that really elevated the track to a whole new place. ©2007
