Jamil & the Show’s debut album is already receiving widespread acclaim from friends and fans alike. Self-produced by Jamil himself, Beautiful combines a variety of sounds, moods, and styles along with hip-hop and pop sensibilities to create a feel-good album for everyone!
Born and raised in the Greater Cleveland area of Ohio, Jamil (pronounced juh-meel), along with an ever-changing cast of musicians and friends (the Show), boasts a diverse performance history. This includes traditional venues such as The Beachland Tavern, local coffee shops in the Downtown Willoughby area, public event spaces such as Euclid’s Sims Park, and nightclubs like Phantasy Nightclub in Lakewood. A hip-hop artist at his core, Jamil clearly calls upon a wide range of influences such as rap duo Outkast, prog-rock outfit Chon, and boyband sensation *NSYNC.
Beautiful is statement to those who’ve followed Jamil & the Show over the years and those who are hearing him for the first time. Jamil has employed long-time friends and collaborators on this project such as producer/artists Fanaticus and BdotJeff, spoken word maverick Jah Lyrics, and Willoughby-based rapper Chris Black. Whether he’s singing about love on Whitney, boasting his lyrical talents on Next Up II, or producing every beat on the album; Jamil & the Show hopes to bring you an album that makes you feel Beautiful!
