Origins - EP by Hail the Deceiver
Hail the Deceiver's EP Origins was recorded in late 2016 and was the band's only ever release. Produced by Harken guitar player Danny Bligh, the EP took influence from bands such as Bring Me The Horizon, Thirty Seconds To Mars, Periphery, Falling In Reverse and Black Veil Brides. This is most evident with the band’s standout track Sanctuary, with its mix of catchy hooks, technical guitar parts and powerful drums.
A video documenting the studio sessions was filmed and released on the band’s YouTube channel, giving fans access to some of the EP’s material before release and insight into the many bizarre and entertaining moments during recording.

Upon the debut EP's eventual release in August 2017, it was announced that the band was splitting as a result of newly acquired commitments and responsibilities.
Hail the Deceiver marked their end with a final show just one week after Origins’ release.

Active from 2011-2017, Hail the Deceiver were a Derby based metalcore band consisting of founding members Josh Wheatcroft and Oliver Babe along with Zach Lintern and Ben Cowley.
The group experienced several lineup changes before establishing regular gigging band status in 2015, often playing on the local circuit and making a number of festival appearances.
